NOVEMBER 29th, 2009 - FEEDBACK FROM WINDS REACH SCHOOLING JUMPER SHOW
Penny & X, Belinda & Ceara, decided to venture out in the jumping world. After weeks of preparation, we finally hit the road early on the Saturday to give the horses time to settle down and put them through their paces at the schooling session the day before the event. Between the 2 horses, it was decided that each would have a 'good' day and a 'bad' day. Selecting intermittent days was the plan. During schooling, Ceara felt 'safe' with other horses in the arena and showed everyone how 'good' she could be by doing a great job clearing all the jumps without fuss. X, on the other hand, found the extra horses a bit much and his nerves got the better of him. Penny did manage to school him over some jumps in preparation for the next day. I'm not even going to mention what mood Ceara was in the next day, but she was enjoying herself. X, however, was awesome on Sunday and Penny did a super job bringing him down the line twice. The second time in perfect harmony! Way to go Penny! A big thank you to Tammy for taking some video coverage so we had proof. Thanks also to Lynnea for your suppport.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2009
Cedar County Saddle Club Show
Tamarack took a team of 6 horses (Angel, Cash, Ceara, Cody, Skippa, and X) to the Tipton show grounds for a fun show. The horses were polished and braided, tack was cleaned and oiled, and the riders were decked out in new polo shirts!
The first class was showmanship. Cody was shown by Julia and placed 3rd, Angel was shown by Kayla and placed 4th. Then the adults showed at Open English Pleasure. Cody was shown by Tammy and placed 3rd (despite pulling a shoe), Ceara was shown by Belinda and placed 4th, and X was shown by Penny and earned a ribbon the same color as her shirt... 5th place!
Hunter Hack found Belinda and Ceara on top with 1st, Tammy and Cody 2nd, Penny and X 4th, and Hannah with Angel got A for effort (Angel decided she didn't need to go over that second jump).
Hannah showed Cody in trail and came in 3rd!
Walk/Trot 12yr and under: Julia and Cody placed second, with Hannah and Angel in 3rd
Walk/Trot adults: Penny and X placed 4th, and Belinda and Ceara placed 5th
There were quite a few participants! Belinda and Ceara tried their hand at barrels... so did Hannah and Skippa! I don't remember how they did but we had fun cheering them on!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ELLIE FOR PROVIDING HONEY AND VERTIGO A LOVING HOME.
AUGUST 29TH SHOW FEEDBACK
Just had to shoot you a quick email and say thank you for yesterday's event. I imagine that it is quite a bit of work and pain in the booty at times. I wanted to let you know how much it is appreciated. I've done schooling shows at your facility and at others. And, for whatever the reason, I have found that both times I have visited your barn, my fun factor increases 10 fold. It just appears that everyone is much more warm and friendly. I believe that a positive environment is started by the person who owns or manages the facility.
Thank you for creating such a positive fun place to ride!

WISCONSIN TRIP - July 11, 2009
First, many thanks to Tammy's Grandparents for being our hosts Friday night after a 5 hour drive. The breakfast Saturday morning was a great start to the day.
A shopping spree, a drool session and a fun trip was had by all who attended. Shopping at Libertyville Saddle Shop was an experience. More tack in one place than what one could see in any store in Iowa! The quick drive into and out of Tempel Farms, an impulsive stop at Fields and Fences (courtesy of the driver - not pictured) and a short intermission at Silverwood to watch some upper level dressage completed the day.
So, now what everyone has been waiting for ... pictures of the gorgeous horses and riders we saw at Silverwood. View Pictures .....
